All of our products are made from either Red Grandis (engineered hardwood) or Accoya. The reason we use these timbers is due to their ideal properties for long term durability and stability, along with the ecological benefits and low carbon impact. It is for these reasons that we only offer these as options for our customers, avoiding lower quality timbers which are otherwise used frequently in the industry, to ensure quality for years to come.
Red Grandis is a high-grade engineered timber which delivers consistency in its appearance and proven strength and efficiency. The process through which the timber is grown results in a knot free, uniform timber. Easy to machine and shape, there is less waste with excellent results and overall finish.
A slower growing timber than most softwoods, Red Grandis’ environmental impact results in negative carbon emissions due to the carbon absorption during its growth lifecycle. Its overall growth span is 25 years until maturity.
Our Classic range door leaves and Heritage range products are made in Accoya as standard, however customers can choose to opt for Accoya for any of our products including the Classic Range windows.
