Frequently Asked Questions

All of our products are made from either Red Grandis (engineered hardwood) or Accoya. The reason we use these timbers is due to their ideal properties for long term durability and stability, along with the ecological benefits and low carbon impact. It is for these reasons that we only offer these as options for our customers, avoiding lower quality timbers which are otherwise used frequently in the industry, to ensure quality for years to come.

We have a range of supporting documents that will be helpful when you make your Listed Building consent application and can talk through the process with you. More and more of our customers are gaining approval for vacuum glazed heritage windows and these precedents are also helpful to support your application.

Please do call us to discuss the process and we’ll be happy to help.

A naturally beautiful timber product, Accoya-made windows and doors offer an expected service life at least twice as long as engineered softwood before replacement is needed. It also needs much less maintenance due to the way the timber has been treated. Repainting therefore is needed half as much as other timbers.
